Personal Injury Litigation: Our firm handles all types of significant personal injury and wrongful death cases, including motor vehicle accidents, trucking accidents, railroad accidents, job-related accidents, construction accidents, and maritime accidents. Personal injuries not only cause physical pain, but often emotional and financial hardship through loss of work, medical bills and stress placed upon families and loved ones. If you have suffered physical or emotional injuries due to another's acts, you may be entitled to bring a personal injury claim to recover for your damages. Recoverable damages include past and future medical expenses, physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, physical impairment, disfigurement, lost wages, and loss of earning capacity.

If you have been injured, it is crucial that you take immediate action and hire an attorney to protect your rights and level the playing field with the insurance company. The law imposes strict time deadlines on personal injury actions and if you fail to act in a timely manner, you may be barred from ever pursuing your right to recovery. If you have been injured contact us today.

Trucking Crashes and Litigation: Highway safety is an issue of great concern to many Americans. In addition to personal injury suits, our firm specializes in trucking safety and trucking litigation. Our overriding goal is to provide you with representation of the highest quality in personal injury cases, especially those involving trucking safety. Whether the firm's task involves a complex lawsuit or a claim for benefits, the best interest of the clients always comes first. We will also strive to make every incident an example forcing trucking companies to comply with all safety regulations, and taking extra precaution where warranted.

Medical Malpractice: Though the majority of health care providers do good work, mistakes are sometimes made which could adversely affect a person, as well as their friends and family, for the rest of their lives. We represent individuals and their families whose medical provider has breached the standard of care in diagnosing or treating medical conditions. We have extensive experience in cases involving birth-related injuries, brain injuries, surgical errors, misdiagnoses or late diagnosis, obstetrical and gynecological malpractice cases, patient neglect, incorrect administration of medication, nursing malpractice, psychiatric malpractice, emergency room errors, and cases involving elder abuse.

Family Law: Few legal areas are as emotionally charged as family law, primarily for the litigants, but also for the lawyers and judges involved in the cases. We represent clients in a full range of family law matters, including divorce, paternity, child custody, child support, visitation, parenting time, temporary orders, parental kidnapping cases, legal separation, premarital agreements, domestic abuse, mediation, maintenance, financial and property disputes, and post-judgment enforcement. Workers' Compensation: In general, the exclusive remedy of an employee injured in the workplace is under the South Carolina Workers' Compensation Act. The Act represents a trade-off of sorts for the employee: the employee receives compensation for any employment-related injury regardless of fault, but the nature and extent of benefits is limited to that provided by the Act. We have experience in this complicated area of the law and represent employees who are injured on the job in claims for lost wages and medical treatment expenses against private industry, federal, and state and local government employers and their workers' compensation insurers. We also handle issues dealing with defenses, fraud, subrogation, and appeals.

Social Security Disability: Disability can pose an insurmountable obstacle to earning a living. If you or a family member suffer from an injury or disease that prevents you from working, or is expected to prevent you from working for one year or longer, then you may be entitled to Social Security Disability benefits. We have experience in obtaining Social Security benefits on behalf of disabled persons. We are also able to guide you through the overwhelming maze of regulations and red tape that characterize the application process. If you have been denied by Social Security or are simply considering whether you should apply, please contact us immediately.

Lemon Law: The "Lemon Law" is fairly simple and allows South Carolina consumers the right to take legal action against dealers and manufactures of defective vehicles. If the manufacturer cannot repair your vehicle after a reasonable number of attempts, the manufacturer must either replace the vehicle or reimburse you an amount equal to the purchase price. In addition to replacing the vehicle or reimbursing you for the price you paid for the vehicle, the manufacturer must also pay for your license fees, rental expenses, towing, and other out of pocket repairs. The manufacturer may also be ordered to pay for some or all of your attorney's fees, insurance, and other losses. The South Carolina and federal Lemon Laws are best known for protecting consumers who have purchased or leased cars which don't work properly under warranty and which, after a reasonable number of repair attempts by the manufacturer and its dealers, still don't work properly. They apply to any car purchased or leased with an express or written warranty. This means that even used cars that are sold with a warranty are covered by these laws.
